William (Bill) Brown

After 6 years in the Marine Corps, (1961 - 1967) moved with first family from Bloomington to Winter Park, Colorado and purchased a couple of ski lodges. The Woodspur and Winter Haven. Some of you were able to come and stayed with us and go skiing. While running the lodges, I became a Ski Instructor in my spare time. My excuse to go skiing. Also, went back to school and graduated from The National Judicial College, Reno, Nevada and became a municipal judge for several municipalities in Grand County Colorado.
Sold the ski lodges in 1982 and retired. (I thought)
During the winter of 1985 I traveled with the North American Professional Ski Racing tour. Found out I was not as good of a skier as I thought. Also during this retirement period, I went sailing in the Caribbean. While in the Caribbean, I left my holdings with an attorney friend and woke up broke in 1987 and had to go back to work. Learned to never trust another attorney.
Then in 1990 took a job managing a Ski Resort in Red River, New Mexico where I found the love of my life, "Cricket". She owned a Indian Gold & Silver Turquoise shop. We were married 3 years later (9/11/93) Cowboy Wedding on top of a mountain on the East Moreno Ranch, Eagle Nest NM.
I Then took a job in Virginia Beach, Virginia with the (DOD) Department of Defense, where we traveled the world, from Japan to Italy - Iceland to Cuba.
Cricket and I built a new house in Haslet, Texas, north of Fort Worth, Texas, happily retired (again) and working on our "Bucket List". Which is getting shorter and shorter.
However with Obama in office I am not sure for how long.
It has been hard staying retired.
We were planning on attending the 55th reunion but had something pop up.
Cricket and I are now living on Lake Granbury Texas. Beautiful lake just south of Fort Worth, Texas and we are thinking about going abroad to live for about a year..
Cricket and I just decided to move to a 55 and over community. We choose to move to the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. Trails End located in Weslaco, Texas. We purchased a couple of medal detectors and enjoy going to the south Padre beach looking for treasures.

Looking back, pretty boring..... Except the time in Junior High (Irving) when I joined the gang "Aces". Gene Lorch was the gang leader. And in high school driving my car, the Purple People Eater, 1949, 2 door ford. We had some real fun in that car. Also, the parties (woodies) up at the lake. Hanging out at the Gold Mine....
