RONNA DURBIN SUTTON

Ronna Sutton, 73, of Bloomington, passed away in the evening of November 4, 2016, at her home.

She was born October 22, 1943, daughter of Carl and Dorothy Durbin.

She is survived by her grandsons, Adrian and Christian Voelzke; her sister, Dorita Estes; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Sutton, and her daughter, Dwanette Buzick.

As a child, Ronna, along with her family, was involved and performed with the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.  She graduated from Bloomington High School and then worked mainly for many years at Commerce Bank as a certified public accountant.  She was an active member of her community, watching over her neighbors, taking care of all the stray cats and other critters that came around; keeping people out of trouble; and helping neighbors and friends find jobs, even if they were only odd jobs around the neighborhood.

She was an amazing woman, full of positive energy and spunk, who led a rich life with many interesting stories to tell.  Everyone she came in contact with -- family, friends, neighbors -- all loved her and will miss her dearly.

For those who would like to visit or place flowers, she is buried alongside her husband and daughter at Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington.  A celebration of Ronna's life will be announced at a later date.

I knew Ronna from the 6th grade thru high school.  I'm sad to hear of her passing.  I never knew she and her family performed with the Ringling Brothers Circus.  I wish I had known this before now.  My condolences to her family.  May she rest in peace and in the heart of her loved ones.
