Weldon L Greeneberg, 61, of Kankakee, formerly on Pontiac and Bloomington, died at 12:24 a.m. Sunday (Sept 12, 2004) at Lakeview Medical Center, Rice Lake, WI.

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, with the Rev David W Gaffron officiating.  Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.  Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the memorial home.  Memorials may be made to the American Heart Assoc., United Way or the Daily Leader Needy Kids Fund, Pontiac.

Mr Greeneberg was born April 6, 1943, in Bloomington, a son of Leo and LaDonnah Williams Greeneberg.

Survivors included a son, Jeff (Cathy) Greeneberg, Bloomington; a daughter, Kara (Zac) Moline, Galesburg, MI; three grandchildren, Steven and Lexie Greeneberg and Jadyn Modine; a brother, Harlan (Jane) Greeneberg, Pontiac; and his best friend, Alice Schrodt, Kankakee.

His parents preceded him in death.

Weldon received his education in Bloomington.  He became a carrier for The Pantagraph at the age of 11.  He probably didn't realize he would embark on a newspaper career that would move him to his most recent position as circulation manager of the Daily Journal, Kankakee.  As a carrier, he won a trip to Brazil, along with other newspaper carriers from the United States.
