A memorial service for Nancy Margaret Rodgers Thomas, 54, of Albuquerque, NM, formerly of Bloomington and Springfield, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church, 401 W Jefferson St, Bloomington.  The Rev John D Trefzger will officiate.  Her cremains will be buried in Hampton Cemetery, Hampton, Iowa.

She died July 10, 1998, at Manor Care Heights, Albuquerque, after an illness with multiple sclerosis. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Rio Grande Chapter, 717 Maderia Drive NE, Albuquerque, NM, 87108, or the First Christian Church, Bloomington.

Mrs. Thomas was born Nov 28, 1943, in Bloomington, a daughter of Ralph and Orma David Rodgers.  She married Frank L Thomas on April 1, 1975, at the base chapel in Alamogordo, NM. He survives.

Other survivors include her mother, who resides in Normal; two daughters, Samantha Delle and Kelli Margaret, both of Albuquerque; one son, Ian Michael, Albuquerque; one sister Diane Hoefs, Camp Douglas, Wis.

Her father preceded her in death.

Nancy graduated from Bloomington High School in 1961, ISU in 1965 and later received her master's degree from the U of I.  She taught first grade at Iles School, Springfield for 10 years.  She accompanied her husband to Sembach, Germany, where she taught second grade for 2 1/2 years.
