I attended the March mini reunion and had  a very good time meeting some of my classmates from about  52 years ago.  My wife Carol and I will be spending the summer in Pontiac, and plan on moving back there in the spring of 2014 when she retires from Dickinson State university.  Hope to attend some of the mini's during the summer and hope to see some of the classmates at the Pontiac City band concerts free on the south side of the court house friday nights 7:00 though june and july.

Hey, Donna and Jack.

Why not just stay all night and in a cheap hotel/motel and pretend you are 17?

Only joking but it could be fun!!  tee-hee      Later, Sheila

Shelia:

Just to let you know I attended the event at CJ's. The people that attend it were the talking about what you said in the Message Forum about staying at a cheap motel pretend you are 17 again! Well there were a lot of grinning faces about this. The only problem is there are no CHEAP hotel/motel here! No one would fess up if they did! But again there were a lot of BIG GRINS on people faces. They were wondering where you were at to join in the fun!

Justin Wolfe, a graduate of Bloomington High School, and my Great-Nephew, will be competing in the 2012 Olympic Trials in Omaha in the butterfly event this weekend.  I am so proud of Justin who is attending Southern Illinois University on an athletic scholarship for swimming.

Hi Everybody

Just to let you know no one in my family or any of my friends are in the tragic Aurora shooting.

It was a shock to everyone....and I only live a little under 3 miles away!

One never knows from day to day what could happen.

Thank you to all the people who called and asked me about my and my families welfare. It is a good feeling to

think someone cares about you.

Wish I could be at the next get together at C.J.'s....but since there are no cheap hotel/motels in

Bloomington/Normal....and I am too old to sleep in a car....I will have to pass.   Haha!!

Later, Sheila....xo

Gene, He's doing much better.  Dr. Murphy released him to come back to work on Nov. 1st.  He's really getting anxious to get back.  Tired of watching tv and walking.  Thanks for asking.  Sharon

To all my classmates that own an animal or love animals, I want to ask you to write a letter to your state rep.  to pass a bill or law for a tax deduction for animals.  The Happy bill has been introducted to give animal owners a deduction of 1000 to 1500 per animal up to 4 animals per household.   This would hopefully keep animals from been dumped and encourage more adoptions.  I see strays running the streets everyday.  The animals shelters are full and more are turned in all the time.   As we all know many, many animals are killed each day.  This will save more of them.  Please, help by writing a letter to your statesman's regarding this.  Thanks.

Patsy, Do you have any special memories about the play, "Our Town", to share with the class?

02/01/13 01:44 PM #163

Patsy Whitecotton (Barggren)

Donna,   I loved every part of it.  Wish I could still wear that tiny size dress.  I was so thrilled and surprised to receive a  dozen roses from the cast after the last preformance.   Would you believe I still have  a pressed rose from that bouquet after all these years?  I enjoyed being with everyone at the rehearsals and getting to know some better.  One thing I remember very well was one kiss from Mike Foret during a rehearsal because it was REALLY a kiss.  I believe I was a bit shocked and slapped him.  The Drama teacher asked why because  he thought it looked great.  It wasn't until the 50th reunion that Mike finally filled me in on the details.  He had been dared by a group of guys back stage and told they would pay him ten dollars if he was brave enough to do a real kiss instead of a stage kiss.  LOL!
