AUBURNDALE, FL - Gary Dean Henson, 81 of Auburndale, FL passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Winter Haven Hospital in Winter Haven, FL.  Visitation will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 from 10:00 - 11:30 am with a funeral service immediately following at Kibler Brady Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington, IL.  A private family graveside burial will follow.

Gary was born on October 23, 1943 in Bloomington, IL, a son to Grover and Florence Oberle Henson.  He married Jane  Ross in 1966 and they later divorced.  Survivors include a brother, Jim (Bette) Henson of Heyworth, IL; nephews, Jeff (Sara) Henson of Lompoc, CA and Ron (Devon) Henson of Ottawa, IL, and fiance' Edna Artanis of Pembroke Pines, FL who was by his side whe he passed.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Big Brothers and Big Sisters.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Pamela Lambert and Nephews, Robert and James Tynan.

George graduated from Bloomington High School in 1961.  He attended Illinois State University.  Gary was  store manager at Klemm's and Bergner's in Bloomington for many years.  Later he owned and ran a travel agency in Virginia and retired from State Farm in Florida.
